This year’s conference will be held over the weekend of Saturday March 8th and Sunday, March 9th 2014 in the John Deutsch University Centre.
What’s new? Aside from workshops, lectures, and networking, this year we are hoping to include an interactive simulation that gives delegates the opportunity to work together and with speakers!

Q: What are the speakers like?
A: We make every effort to ensure a variety in speaker topics and invite professionals from a broad range of disciplines in the media to speak at QMJC. Check out our Speakers tab for some profiles of past speakers. If you have a suggestion for a particular speaker you would like to see at QMJC, send us an email or post it to our Facebook page!
Q: Where is QMJC going to be held?
A: Like last year, QMJC will be held in the John Deutsch University Centre for the convenience of delegates.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: There is no enforced dress code, but business casual is recommended.
Q: Who can apply to be a delegate?
A: Any student currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at Queen’s can be a delegate! We welcome applicants from any faculty. Please stay updated through our Facebook page to find out when applications are due.
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: You are more than welcome to bring a personal notepad and pen to take notes.
Q: What types of topics are discussed?
A: Delegates can listen to a variety of speakers discuss their own experiences in the field and different topics such as the skills needed in the media and journalism field, the effects of digital media, internships, career skills, resume and interview advice, and the future of media and journalism landscape.
